I would like for us to get together before hand to have breakfast at Shoney’s!!! I am still looking for who I need to talk to about Old Time Saturday. I appreciate any help that is given for this undertaking. We are collecting Old cellphones for National MS Society. We are also collecting old printer cartidges to help with costs of running the support group. Any help is very much welcome. If anyone needs to talk to me or has any questions please call Sherrie 865-712-6706. I will post again soon. Any ideas for upcoming meetings are also welcome.

Hope for Tomorrow MS Support Group
Upcoming events:
August 6th at 6:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in the main classroom Dr Sybil Wray will be coming to talk with us. Dinner will be served. Dr Wray is with Hope Neurology. Please call to register 1-800-269-9055 option 1.
Important Information:
Beth Smith with the National MS Society is conducting free confidential career counseling. Her phone number is 1-800-269-9055 option 2, or you can visit her at www.msworkplace.com.
MS Bears are available for $7.00 from the National MS Society. This is a fundraising event to help with emergency assistance provided by the Society to families with MS who are in a temporary financial situation. I have a list of where they are being sold at or you can contact Deanna Jones at 1-800-269-9055 option 2.
I have found a clay molding art class that might interest some of you. It is a 4 session class at the Fountain City park. The cost is regularly $100.00 per person, but the instructor Edna will give us a discount of $25.00 off per person if we are interested. So it will be $75.00 a person. This fee covers the classes and all supplies needed. I have a sign up sheet, please sign up if you would like to partake in this class.
School is out for the summer and I would like any input on summer activities we could bring our whole family to. I would like to have a picnic or grill out. My neighbor has a bluegrass band, he said they would love to play for us if we feed them. I said that would be no problem.
Old time Saturday is the first Saturday in October. I will have sign up sheet for anyone wanting to participate. We will need volunteers to help man the booth. I will also need a table and some kind of tent. If anyone would like to donate the use of any of these items please let me know. I will have some brochures promoting awareness and I will have some bears and bracelets to sell for the Society.
I have started collecting ink cartages to recycle to help fund the meetings , cards for birthdays and those that are sick, and stuff like that. If you could donate any of these it would be appreciated.
The MS Society is collecting old cell phones to recycle. I will be collecting these to send to them. Please forward these on. You can also contact Beth Smith with the MS Society at number above.
Any sicknesses or Injuries:
Stella broke her ankle and was not able to attend our meeting. I continue to pray for a swift recovery for her.
Rosemary’s Dad has been really sick. They do not think he will make it much longer. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
Please keep everyone in group in your thoughts and prayers as we all go through our individual struggles with our MS. Some are dealing with medication issues, others with work and going on disability stuff, others with symptoms, and some with all.
If there any others who are sick or injured or just having a rough time please let me know.

Well the meeting didn’t go exactly like I expected, but I think it turned out to be a good meeting. We had a great turn out. Thank you to Robin for making calls and getting people there. Thank you to Ken for making the Ziti. Thank you to Anne for the Garlic bread. Thank you to Betty for the awesome cake. Even though our guest speaker didn’t show up, we talked and caught up on everyone. We had time to get some things together for other fun things to do and on how to get more involved in community. We are planning to attend “Old Time Saturday” in Jeff. City in October. It should be fun. We will be selling Bears and Bracelets for the MS Society. We will also be accepting old cell phones and ink cartridges for recycling. The future is full of promise for our group. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks for the support.
